These days it seems like everyone has an opinion on e-cigarettes. Opponents are desperately trying to find negatives to them, the media are generating easy headlines based off these ‘findings’, and the old man down the street can’t wait to tell you that you don’t know what’s in e-cigarettes and that they’re bad for you (usually as he lights his next cigarette).

Happily, the benefits of e-cigarettes do seem to be filtering through, and we’ve seen quite a few high-profile doctors and researchers publicly speaking out in favour of them. As we’re such a lovely bunch we’ve helpfully pulled a few of these together for you. Click through to see what the experts have been saying.

First up, we have Dr Hilary Jones, the legendary ITV breakfast show guest doctor who has been on our televisions discussing all sorts of health related issues since 1989. He’s also still a practising GP, and we’re a bit jealous if he’s your doctor.

When the e-cigarette coverage from the BBC’s Trust Me, I’m a Doctor came out we were pleasantly surprised by how positive and well researched it was overall. They start out by noting the differences between smoking and vaping, helping to educate anyone in the audience who might not be aware of the differences. As well as this, they performed their own small scale tests and got Professor Peter Hajek on to give his expert opinion on the topic.

Speaking of Peter Hajek, he makes his opinions on e-cigarettes known here, discussing how the fact that they’re a disruptive technology is the reason certain opponents are trying to kill them.

Next up we have Doctor Michael Siegel of the Boston University School of Public Health. He has performed studies on the effectiveness of e-cigarettes, and, coming at it from a neutral perspective has naturally found some pretty good things. In this video he’s discussing his research on how effective e-cigarettes can be compared to NRT.

Our final video today is of Dr. Konstantinos Farsalinos, one of the most recognisable people around vaping today. He has performed a number of studies on e-cigarettes and regularly comes out in support of the technology. This video shows him giving a talk at the European Society of Cardiology Congress in 2012.

So there we have it, a quick little round up of a few experts discussing e-cigarettes. There is plenty of other stuff out there, and we might get another article together soon with a few more videos.
